Two women have been killed in a two-car crash in Co Mayo.
The crash happened at around 5.10 pm on the N5 near Bellavary, outside Castlebar.
Both women, one in her 70s and the other in her 40s, were travelling in the same car.
The driver of the second car, a Belmullet man in his 20s, was taken to Castlebar General Hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.

The bodies of the two women were also brought to the same hospital.
The road remains closed and gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Castlebar Garda Station on 094-9022222.
