Two men were killed in separate overnight road crashes, Gardai said today.
A male pedestrian in his mid-twenties was struck by a car on the N2 Ashbourne by-pass shortly after 4.30am this morning. He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he was pronounced dead.
In Limerick, a man died when the van he was driving left the road and crashed into a wall. The victim, in his early thirties, was alone in the van at the time of the collision at Kyletaun, Rathkeale, shortly after 3.30am.
He was taken to the Midwest Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Gardai are investigating both deaths and have appealed to anyone with information to get in contact.
