Kerry passed up the opportunity to gain revenge on All-Ireland champions Tyrone this afternoon, a second-half collapse condemning them to yet another defeat at the hands of Mickey Harte's side, the match finishing 1-14 to 1-12.

Leading 1-7 to 0-6 at the interval in this Division One A clash, thanks in no small part to 1-3 from the effervescent Colm Cooper, Kerry failed to show after the break as Tyrone drew on their vast reserves of determination.

The Ulster champions wasted no time in dismantling the visitors advantage, keeping the potent Kerry attack scoreless for fully 20 minutes as they notched six unanswered scores of their own, including a well-taken Stephen O'Neill goal, to lead 1-11 to 1-7.

Kerry rediscovered their scoring touch in the final quarter, coming within a point of the home side at one stage, but despite a nervous finish - which saw Kerry midfielder Kieren Donaghy sent off for a second yellow - Tyrone ran out two-point winners.
