Mike Tyson's camp have today dismissed reports that the controversial boxer has signed a two-fight deal with former world champion Lennox Lewis.
Lewis' business manager Adrian Ogun had claimed that both sides had reached an agreement with television companies to stage two lucrative bouts.
However, Tyson's manager Shelley Finkel has described the statement as "premature" and hinted that Lewis' court case with new world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman may be a potential stumbling block.
"I have only just read this and it is not entirely accurate. It is premature. In fact, it is more than premature," he told The Times.
"A Tyson-Lewis contest is closer than it has been before but then again the outcome of the court case is closer, too. I cannot comment any further than that other than to say that there will be a response."
A statement from Lewis' lawyer Judd Bernstein has also poured cold water on hopes of a clash between the two former undisputed champions.
The statement said: "Earlier today Lennox Lewis' London office inadvertently issued a statement regarding a proposed Lennox Lewis-Mike Tyson fight. The statement contained premature and inaccurate information."
