GAA:Having claimed the title on a record 40 occasions, it is no surprise that UCC received the majority of nominations for the 'Fitzgibbon Cup Team of the Century' when the shortlist was released this afternoon.
Of 75 players nominated, the Cork university top the list with 31 names, just ahead of UCD who have garnered 18 selections at this stage.
Two UCD players (Éamon Bulfin and John Ryan) from the team that claimed the inaugural title in 1912 are included on the shortlist, while UL’s triumph last season saw Séamus Hickey make the selection.
The final selection will be announced at the end of the month.
