The British economy grew by a provisional 0.9 per cent in the second quarter and by 1.5 per cent year-on-year, the Office for National Satistics said today.
Within the latest breakdown, growth in services output accelerated to 0.6 per cent quarter-on-quarter from 0.2 per cent in the previous quarter.
Output in distribution, hotels and catering jumped 1.1 per cent on the quarter, the ONS said.
It estimated that industrial production grew strongly in the second quarter.
