Police in England have appealed for information on the whereabouts of a woman last seen 35 years ago in the company of two Irishmen.
Ms Valerie Dawn Haycock, aged 19 at the time she disappeared, may have travelled to Ireland with the men, police believe.
The fresh appeal for information on her whereabouts follows a review of files of missing persons in Northamptonshire. During the audit it emerged that no attempt had ever been made to trace the missing woman in Ireland.
A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire police said: "An officer found that one piece of information had not been followed up, the fact that she had been sighted with two Irishmen and may have gone to Ireland. But no publicity was ever done in Ireland about her disappearance."
The missing woman was last seen with the two Irishmen a week after she was reported missing on July 14th, 1967, in the Britannia public house on Barrack Road in Northampton.
The men were working in the Piddington/Hackleton area at the time. Ms Haycock is understood to have built up a close relationship with them.
