An appeal by SIPTU against the granting of two permanent injunctions in relation to a 22month strike at a Co Wexford transport company opened in the Supreme Court yesterday.
SIPTU is challenging the High Court's 1994 decision to grant the two injunctions to Nolan Transport (Oaklands) Ltd, New Ross, and to grant further orders against the union for about £600,000 damages and an estimated £700,000 in costs.
The hearing of the appeal before a five-judge Supreme Court, with Mr Justice O'Flaherty presiding, continues today.
