Irish-owned Uniphar Group today announced the merger of its Whelehan Surgical and Surgicare units.
Whelehan Surgical is part of the Whelehan Group, acquired by Uniphar in mid-2004. Surgicare has been a division of the Uniphar Group since 2001.
The new business will be called Whelehan Surgicare and will operate from the Northern Cross Business Park in Finglas, Dublin, employing 21 people.
Uniphar is owned by independent pharmacists throughout the country and employs 700 people in Dublin, Cork, Sligo and Limerick.
