THE power of money, or the iprospeet of it, is truly remarkable. And Quidnunc is not referring to the Tribunal of Inquiry into Payments to Politicians but to the sight, which amazed those who have spent years getting the two sides to sit in the same room, of Alec Maskey, a Sinn Fein councill9r, and Reg Empey, a very senior unionist and a councillor, sitting together on a bus in Brussels recently. They were part of Belfast delegation to the EU seeking - money, of course.
