United Ireland more than aspiration says Adams

The "goal of a united, free and independent Ireland is not an aspiration or a pipe-dream

The "goal of a united, free and independent Ireland is not an aspiration or a pipe-dream. It is real and it is achievable," Sinn Féin's Mr Gerry Adams said today.

Speaking at meetings in Dublin's three main universities Mr Adams said Sinn Féin wanted to forge "an alliance for Irish unity."

He said his party wanted to achieve an alliance that was free of corruption and characterised by equality and social justice.

He told students the aim was for "a coming together of like-minded individuals and organisations who seek an end to partition and a united Ireland based on equality and justice."
