Manchester United bid for German World Cup star Miroslav Klose to link up with their Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, it was reported this morning.
United boss Alex Ferguson is said to have made an official enquiry about the striker whose club Kaiserslautern said in December they would listen to offers to ease their financial woes.
United are prepared to pay about €5 million to bring Klose to the Premiership, it was claimed.
The 24 year-old German got five goals in last year's World Cup in South Korea and Japan and has scored 14 times in 24 internationals. But he has scored only three goals in the Bundesliga this term.
