Up to two million people used the State's citizens information service last year, according to a report published today.

Up to two million people used the State's citizens information service last year, according to a report published today.

The Comhairle Annual Report for 2004shows that the statutory body received 676,846 queries at its 98 walk-in centres around the country and 73,000 queries by telephone, an increase of 75 per cent.

A new Ask a Questionservice was also introduced during the year, receiving more than 8,000 email queries.

Its online service www.oasis.gov.iereceived 1.8 million unique users, an increase of 80 per cent.
