Following 12 years building a cult following and sharpening her skills as one of the best new contemporary singer/songwriters, Boston-based Catie Curtis (right) returns to Ireland for a solo gig next Monday, March 20th at Whelans, Dublin. Incorporating acoustic rock, mainstream pop, shades of new country and urban folk, Curtis nevertheless stamps her own distinct identity on her material.
Her most recent album, A Crash Course In Roses (Ryko) helped her win 1999's Gay & Lesbian Album of the Year Award - beating the likes of Melissa Etheridge and k.d. Lang.
