US medical equipment-maker Star Guide is to create 185 jobs at a new manufacturing and research and development centre in Oranmore in Co Galway.
Speaking at the opening of the facility in Galway today, the Tánaiste Ms Harney said: "Star Guide is a welcome addition to Ireland's growing medical supply base."
Star Guide is a medical device component and assembly supplier to leading medical companies such as Boston Scientific, Guidant and Medtronic which already have operations in Ireland.
Star Guide will manufacture precision wire components. The R&D facility will be established to provide customers with material and wire development expertise.
