Washington - The US yesterday criticised Russia for its opposition to a US-British plan to revise UN sanctions on Iraq and accused China of secretly backing Moscow's stance.
"We find it ironic that now that the United States has proposed a radical shift in how we deal with Iraq ... there are some on the Security Council who oppose this change ... (although) they have long advocated it," a State Department spokesman, Mr Richard Boucher, said.
Meanwhile, last night Iraq said three people were killed when US and British planes flying from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait hit targets in the south of the country.
