A US software company is establishing a Belfast-based research and development centre and creating 35 jobs, it was announced today.

Intelliden Inc is investing £3.2 million (€4.7 million) in the new operation which has been backed with £680,000 (€1 million) from Invest Northern Ireland.

Intelliden is a leading provider of automated networking solutions and the new R&D centre is being driven by its rapid growth, particularly in the European telecommunications market.

The new jobs will be high quality and mostly for experienced software engineers who will support Intelliden's major customers across Europe. The Belfast-based staff will work alongside the US company's main development centre in Colorado Springs.
