A US soldier was killed and three others wounded in a roadside bomb bomb attack in Baghdad this morning.
The incident happened close to the spot where five US soldiers were killed and four wounded yesterday in an apparent rocket-propelled grenade attack .
The attacks took place close to the sprawling, poor district of Sadr City, a stronghold of support for rebel cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. His forces struck a truce with US forces in the holy city of Najaf, south of Baghdad, yesterday.
The latest attack brought the number of US troops killed in Iraq since the invasion began last year to 602.
