RACING:Today's meetings at Uttoxeter and Warwick have both been abandoned due to frozen tracks.
Warwick experienced a hard overnight frost and with temperatures not set to rise much above freezing today, clerk of the course Andrew Morris was left with no choice but to abandon.
He said: "We went down to minus five and a half degrees last night and it is still only minus three now.
"There is frost in the ground and the daytime temperature is forecast to be zero to plus one so there is no chance of it coming out of the ground."
Uttoxeter clerk of the course Keith Ottesen had planned a 7.30am inspection but was forced to make an earlier call after temperatures dropped well below freezing overnight.
He said: "We have abandoned. The temperature was minus five at 11pm and it stayed that way for three or four hours."
Meanwhile, the majority of the New Year's Day jumps action in Britain will rest on 8am inspections in the morning.
Cheltenham, Catterick and Exeter have all called precautionary checks in the morning but all remain optimistic about their chances of racing.
