Foot and mouth disease continues to hamper racing in Britain with the news today that officials at Uttoxeter have been forced to abandon their next two meetings.

The course remains within a 3km MAFF protection area and further testing on local premises is expected to continue for at least another twoweeks.

The meetings were set to take place on May 23rd and 28th.

Uttoxeter managing director Rod Street said: "Whilst we have been given no absolute guarantees, we have been advised by MAFF that theyintend to conclude their testing within the next two weeks and, as such, the resumption of racing is planned for ladies night, Thursday June 7th."
