Ulster Television said today that despite positive market conditions in Ireland and a strong ratings performance, it expects a fall in advertising revenue in the first half of 2001 of around 6 per cent.
UTV’s chairman, Mr John McGuckian told shareholders at today’s AGM that the ITV network as a whole had seen a decline in advertising revenue of 15 per cent in the first half of 2001.
Mr McGuckian said UTV's revenue loss was considerably less than the ITV average and that the company will be well placed to take advantage of any upturn in the second half.
Mr McGuckian added that UTV Internet will reach profitability in the second half of this year.
