Liverpool have had no contact with Valencia coach Rafael Benitez with a view to him replacing Gerard Houllier, according to the Spaniard's agent.
Houllier insisted yesterday he is "100 per cent certain" he will still be in charge at Anfield next season despite the lack of any public backing from the board after he led the club back into the Champions League by finishing fourth.
Benitez, who led Valencia to the Primera Liga title and the UEFA Cup this season, is one of the hottest properties in Europe but his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon said: "Nobody has been in contact with him."
