PSV striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is back in the Dutch squad for next Wednesday's World Cup group two qualifier against Cyprus after an absence of over a year.

Van Nistelrooy, whose £18 million sterling move to Manchester United collapsed last year after he injured his knee, has not played for Holland since the friendly against Germany in February 2000.

Inter Milan's Clarence Seedorf also returns to a 20-man squad after being dropped for the last two qualifying matches against Andorra and Portugal. Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot is also recalled.

Defenders Jaap Stam and Michael Reiziger and midfielder Edgar Davids will miss the clash against Cyprus in Eindhoven because of suspension while Paul Bosvelt is out injured.

Coach Louis van Gaal has agreed to allow the five Barcelona players to arrive at the training camp on Monday, a day after the rest of the squad. This will allow them to play a Spanish league match against Osasuna on Sunday evening.

The Dutch need a win if their World Cup campaign is to get back on track. Ireland have 11 points and lead the group on goal difference ahead of Portugal.
