Harare - Zimbabwe's controversial war veterans chief, Chenjerai Hunzvi, is recovering in hospital after suddenly collapsing on Monday, state radio has reported.
"The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association has dismissed rumours that its chairman Dr Chenjerai Hunzvi has died," the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation said.
Speculation has been rife that Dr Hunzvi, who spearheaded a violent campaign against the opposition Movement for Democratic Change party and the invasion of white-owned farms last year, had died of his unidentified illness.
