The VHI paid out more than £10 million in accident-related claims last year and a tenth of this related to accidents in the home, according to Mr Derry Hussey, chairman of VHI, writes Alison O'Connor, Health Correspondent. Mr Hussey, speaking yesterday at the introduction of the first Irish-produced emergency first-aid video, sponsored by the company, said VHI had become involved in the project because of the need for greater awareness of first-aid procedures.
