Gardai cordoned off two locations in Clonmel, Co Tipperary, after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted on Sunday night.
The boy collapsed yesterday and was taken to Cork University Hospital where he is in now in a coma.
Gardaí are said to be following a line of inquiry.
