The invasion marks the first sign of Baghdad's final victory, writes DrLiqa' Makki in response to the "lies and crazy propaganda" of the Americans and British.

When the enemy herds chose Al-Faw as an entry point for the aggression and a gateway to occupying Iraq, they imagined that the situation would be similar to that which came about over 90 years ago, when British forces occupied Iraq beginning with this town.

This issue has been confirmed by various sources, which indicated that what took place seemed to have been based on British advice to the Americans.

Moreover, choosing this town in particular was an attempt to make symbolic gains on the ground, which the frustrated ones in Washington believed would be a piece of cake, and thereby give their media something to talk and brag about. They also believed that it would undermine Iraqi will and morale, put their mercenaries under the belief that the battle would be easy and open the road to Baghdad.

This is what the enemy believed when it pushed its forces towards Al-Faw. It thought that it would be an easy invasion with no obstacles or losses over an almost empty land, especially since it is the closest to the base of aggression, Kuwait.

So, the enemy savoured the situation, prompted by its stupidity. So, it sent its forces to this pure Iraqi land unaware of the illusion it is living under and the predicament it will face and engaged in a fierce battle with the people of Al-Faw and the defending armed forces. This battle turned the mercenaries' calculations upside down and defined the course of the confrontation at the very beginning of the aggression, and also its results, which Iraq and its victorious leader had predicted all along. Without getting into enemy allegations, lies, and crazy propaganda, which is constantly changing and has failed so far to prove any of its falsehoods, we say, away from all this, that the enemy has failed to attain its objectives in Al-Faw, despite its vicious and brutal aggression. The enemy mercenaries remain incapable of doing anything and continue to turn round in the vicious circle of the fire the Iraqis have opened on them from all sides.

While television channels aired pictures of heavily-armed enemy soldiers fleeing an Iraqi defence position, the enemy, only a short while earlier, bragged that it had occupied Al-Faw.

The issue here is not related to the Al-Faw battle only, but to what has been taking place in this brave Iraqi town, which stands as a significant symbol for the Iraqis and the Arabs. It reflects what the aggression is facing today and what is lying in wait for it in the coming days. This is especially the case since the Al-Faw battle was paralleled by a similar defeat of the aggressive forces in the port of Umm Qasr, which is the small town that resisted the aggression fiercely and heroically, thus preventing it from attaining propaganda and psychological gains.

If Al-Faw marked the first sign of Iraq's final victory over the aggression, other signs followed due to the brave Iraqis' defence of their homeland. Afterwards, Umm Qasr, al-Nasiriyah and other nearby towns recorded the defeat of the aggression and the capture of enemy mercenaries, who were taken to Baghdad as disgraced PoWs, after the idiot Bush had given them the impression that the battle would be easy and that they would be welcomed in Baghdad with music and laurels.

Even before al-Nasiriyah, Akashat and the western region took a firm step towards victory. In light of all this, all Iraqis aspire to the great victory, something manifested, since the first days of the aggression, in the millions of steadfast Iraqis, who carry their weapons in the streets, various quarters, workplaces, city plazas, farms and roads all throughout their homeland, waiting to meet the enemy and defeat him. They are backed by their strong faith, unlimited confidence in their victory, and absolute loyalty to their leader Saddam Hussein, who has become the symbol of all of Iraq's triumphs, which began with Al-Faw and will end only when the aggression is defeated, and the defeatists - or whoever is left of them - return to their countries humiliated and disgraced.

The war that was imposed on Iraq is still in its first days, yet its decisive outcome represented by Iraq's certain victory is embedded in the chest of every Iraqi. The aggression will retreat and be defeated and the enemy will have to admit this under the pressure of the knowledge that cannot be concealed with lies and allegations.
