Vodafone vows to slash roaming charges

The firm said it intends to reduce the amount it charges customers for calls made abroad by at least 40 per cent by April 2007, when compared to last summer.

Vodafone claimed that the average cost of calls will fall from more than 90 cent a minute to less than 55 cent per minute.

The company also said it would enter into reciprocal  agreements with competitors to offer a wholesale  price of 45 cent a minute for voice calls from October 2006.
