A chocolate maker is giving voters a chance to take a bite out of the main party leaders with the sale of special election lollipops - and the bestseller is Mr Blair.

Thorntons, which has more than 300 stores nationwide, has milk chocolate lollipops featuring the heads of Mr Blair, Mr Hague and Mr Kennedy - at 55p each.

Sales of the Blair lollipop are far ahead with 1,800 out of a total 4,000 sold since the sweets first hit the shops late last week, a spokeswoman for Thorntons said. Hague's sticky alter ego sold 1,200 times, while the Kennedy lollipop found 600 buyers.
