Captain Jonathan Humphreys is hoping to shake off a shoulder injury and line out for Wales in their Six Nations game with France in Paris on Saturday.

The hooker suffered a recurrence of shoulder trouble in the weekend's 25-24 defeat by Ireland at Cardiff.

"It's the same shoulder I did a couple of weeks ago, but hopefully it isn't so bad," he said.

Coach Steve Hansen recalled the 34-year-old from the international wilderness to lead the side following the disastrous opening 6 Nations defeat by Italy. But he damaged his shoulder in the defeat by England and subsequently missed the loss to Scotland.

He was replaced by Mefin Davies two minutes into the second half on Saturday and the Pontypridd player staked his claim for a starting place by having a hand in both the second and third Welsh tries.

Hansen also expects Swansea centre Mark Taylor to be fit. Taylor was substituted after 14 minutes against Ireland after landing awkwardly when challenging for a ball.
