The warm, close weather of the weekend will continue over the next three days, but will be interrupted by showers in parts of the country.
Daytime temperatures will continue to be around 20 to 23 degrees at the start of the week and the nights will continue to be mild.
However, they will drop to the more normal temperatures for the time of year of 18 or 19 degrees towards the weekend.
Generally, the weather will be quite unsettled with spells of warm sunshine mixed with heavy, sometimes thundery, showers.
Ms Sarah O'Reilly of Met Éireann said: "The temperatures will continue in the early 20s over the next three days but it is the humidity that is high. On Thursday and Friday the temperature will drop a little and it won't be so sticky. It will be cooler although it still won't be cold."
Today, showers across the country overnight will clear towards dawn. for the rest of the day, it will be warm but scattered showers and a continuing risk of thunder are likely.
Tomorrow morning and early afternoon will have bright or sunny spells but again there will be scattered showers, some of these heavy or possibly thundery.
Thickening cloud on Tuesday evening will bring a more organised band of showery rain spreading from the south with freshening easterly winds for a time. This rain will be heavy in places with thundery bursts likely.
That rain will clear early on Wednesday morning although it will be cloudy with winds becoming moderate to fresh south to south-east everywhere.
For the remainder of Wednesday, and also for Thursday, there will be bright or sunny spells and scattered, sometimes heavy or thundery, showers.
During Thursday the winds will gradually become moderate to fresh west to north-west bringing fresher, less humid air later in the day.
The fresher weather will continue on Friday.
