Farmers should pay no more that 1p to 2p per litre for diluted foot-and-mouth disinfectant, a farm leader warned yesterday. Mr Roy O'Brien, western development officer with the IFA, said disinfectant had become more available in recent days. He warned: "Some of the suppliers have used the occasion to jack up prices. Farmers should be very vigilant. Pay no more that 1p to 2p per litre when the product is diluted-mixed. Farmers should shop around for the best deal."
