Beijing - AIDS may spread faster in south-east Asia than Africa because of widespread drug use in the region, a UN official said yesterday.
"There are many injecting drug-users in Asia who may spread the disease to the general public," said Mr Michel Careal, senior social scientist at the Joint UN Programme on HIV/AIDS.
