A warrant was issued for the arrest of a Dublin businessman, Mr Christopher O'Dwyer, who was charged with having a .22 firearm and six rounds of ammunition after a pub murder.

Mr O'Dwyer (50), of Mary's Lane, Dublin 7, had been released on bail of £10,000 after being charged with having the arms in suspicious circumstances at Beresford Street on November 30th last.

Judge Desmond Hogan issued the warrant in Dublin District Court yesterday when Mr O'Dwyer failed to appear.

The man's brother, Mr John O'Dwyer (48) of Church Street, Dublin 7, is facing similar charges.

He appeared in court with Mr Martin Comerford (35), of Tom Kelly Road, Dublin 2, who is charged with murdering Mr Anthony "Chester" Beatty at the Wild Heather Pub, Mary Street on November 30th. They were remanded on continuing bail to April 8th.
