FESTIVAL WATCH BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL:THE 2008 Bluegrass Festival kicks off for the 14th time this Friday, August 22nd, and ends on Sunday.
The event takes place at different venues in Dunmore East, Co Waterford.
The festival is only for three days, but organisers are expecting audiences of 20,000 people who can see 12 bluegrass bands.
These range from Sunnyside from the Czech Republic to Jeff Vida from the US.
"The highlight of the event will be Hungry Hill, from Canada [the best-known band attending the festival] and the Jack Grace Band," says Mick Daly, the festival's organiser.
There are few associated events. Daly says this festival is "about the music".
The bands will be spread out across six venues in Dunmore East. Entry to all performances is free.
