More than 100 new jobs are set to be announced this morning at a biothechnology plant in Waterford.
Multinational biotech firm Genzyme will take on the extra staff at its facility in the city's IDA industrial estate. The €125 million complex is being officially opened today.
The Genzyme plant supplies the global market with Renagel, a phosphate binder used in the treatment of chronic kidney disease for patients on dialysis. It already employs more than 250 people in its Waterford operation.
