Punchestown Racecourse will replace Palmerstown House, Johnstown, Co Kildare, as the south park-and-ride facility for the duration of the Ryder Cup.

Due to the poor conditions caused by persistent bad weather, Ryder Cup Europe LLP has decided that Palmerstown House cannot continue to be used as a park-and-ride facility.

Instead, spectators travelling to the K Club via Palmerstown House this morning will be redirected to Punchestown Racecourse.

Signposting has been put in place advising spectators to follow the signs to Punchestown.

Ryder Cup Europe LLP says that the journey from Punchestown to the K Club will take up to 30 minutes longer, but the better parking facilities make it a safer option.

Spectators are advised to take notice of the extra journey time and to arrive earlier at Punchestown Racecourse, which will open at 5 am each day.

Alternately, visitors to the K Club can continue to use the Weston aerodrome park-and- ride facility, which also opens at 5 am.

Ryder Cup Europe LLP thanked the Garda Síochána, Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus for their support at short notice.
