TODAY: Cold and icy conditions will persist today with some snow showers expected to hit the east coast. Some sleet or snow showers may affect northwest areas also. Very cold again with daytime temperatures between -6 and 1 degrees.
TOMORROW:A drier day is forecast with a few isolated snow showers likely to hit the north and east coasts. Fog may linger in some inland areas during the day and temperatures will range from -4 to 0 degrees, with severe frost and fog likely at night.
CHRISTMAS EVE:Dry conditions are expected over much of the country but outbreaks of sleet and snow could develop in parts of Connacht and Ulster. It will be warmer than previous days with temperatures rising to between -1 and 3 degrees.
CHRISTMAS DAY:Milder weather is expected to develop on Christmas Day with temperatures likely to rise well above freezing. Rain and strong southerly winds will spread from the southwest during the day.
ST STEPHEN'S DAY:Further rain and southerly winds will bring a decent thaw and temperatures should rise to between 7 and 10 degrees.
