Details of Garda radio frequencies and codes have been removed from a controversial Internet website.
The site was removed by Telecom Internet last week after it reversed its initial position that such an action would constitute "censorship of the Internet".
The company had insisted that, as it was not illegal to possess information about Garda radio frequencies, the site did not breach the terms and conditions of Telecom Internet. A company spokeswoman said yesterday, however, that the site was subsequently removed after Telecom took further legal advice. The owner of the site had then asked for it to be reinstated without the contentious Garda information and this was agreed to.
