IT'S the sort of thing that would have any parish reeling even. Craggy Island. The priest's housekeeper is getting married. Pauline McLynn, the award winning actress who plays Mrs Doyle in Father announced their engagement this week and the pair have earmarked September 6th as a likely wedding date.
The wedding will be in Kilkenny - Richard is the force behind the increasingly successful Cat Laughs Festival and lives in Kilkenny while Pauline divides her time between London and her house in Dublin.
The pair still have to sort out minor matters such as where they'll live but an extremely happy Pauline feels that such geographical logistics are fairly minor when com, pared with organising the big day itself. And it will be big - in their first flush of post engagement enthusiasm, the guest list is currently hovering around 200.
