Almost 400 workers at Irish Country Meats' plant in Roosky, Co Roscommon, should resume normal working next week following the resolution of a dispute over production methods.
Almost 800 workers at three of the company's plants in Roscommon and Mayo have been affected by strikes but all the disputes have now been resolved.
Yesterday, 375 workers at the largest plant, in Roosky, voted to return to work after their union, SIPTU, obtained clarification of a Labour Court recommendation that proposed they accept an amended production scheme. They have been on strike for the past week.
An unofficial strike by 70 of the 180 employees at the company's Ballaghaderreen plant has also ended. It was resolved last weekend after the intervention of SIPTU officials.
At the company's Ballyhaunis plant in Co Mayo, where 230 people are employed boners came out in sympathy with their colleagues at Ballaghaderreen. They too have returned to work. Irish Country Meats is owned by the Avonmore Group.
