The GAA have finalised this weekend's hurling and football fixtures, scotching speculation they would counteract a planned GPA protest.

With the players due to delay official throw-in times by 15 minutes to highlight welfare issues, it had been mooted that GAA officials would simply bring the matches forward to negate any tangible impact.

However, when the fixtures were released this morning the vast majority of throw-ins have been set for the regular 3.30pm time.

The final rounds of the entire football league and Division One A of the hurling league will now go ahead as normal while the Divison Two and Three hurling quarter-finals, to be played at neutral venues, will also take place.
