The warm summer weather experienced at the end of last week will not be replicated this weekend, say the forecasters, with most parts experiencing scattered showers and cooler temperatures.
Met Éireann says tomorrow will be wet at first in many areas before becoming brighter, with temperatures between 13 to 18 degrees, a far cry from the from the mid-20 degrees experienced over much of the country last Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday will begin dry and bright in most places but outbreaks of rain will develop in the south and west of the country through the afternoon and evening, the forecaster says.
The upside, however, is that it remain very mild and humid everywhere, despite winds becoming moderate and westerly.
The sporting agenda is dominated by tonight’s end of season soccer clash between the Republic and Algeria, and tomorrow’s Magners League final clash between Leinster and Ospreys, both of which take place at the RDS in Dublin.
Gardaí are advising motorists to expect delays in the area before and after the matches.
Ireland’s Niamh Kavanagh carries the country’s best chance of a strong finish this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in over a decade, according to the pundits.
Kavanagh will perform her song It's for You in Oslo's Telenor Arena tomorrow night, some 17 years after she won the competition in the same city with her double plantinum hit In Your Eyes.
A change in the Eurovision voting system may also help change Ireland's recent fortunes.
At last year's finals in Moscow, the winner - Norway's Alexander Rybak with Fairytale - was chosen via televotes and jury votes, which reduced so-called "bloc voting".
