Due to the go-slow by members of the Irish Road Haulage Association and independent hauliers on all national routes, traffic disruption is expected today throughout the State.

Dublin:

Roads at Seatown in Swords will be closed from today until next year due to work on the new northern motorway. Alternative routes are in operation.

From Sunday until Thursday, Templeogue Road will be closed between its junctions with Terenure Road West and Fortfield Road from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily.

Arran Street East will be closed from St Mary's Lane to Chancery Street until Monday, September 25th. The Ballymun Road from the junction with Collins Avenue will be reduced to one lane for outbound traffic.

Work is continuing on the Rathfarnham and North Clondalkin Quality Bus Corridors.

Cork:

Watergate Road will be closed near the Cork Road junction in Bandon from tomorrow until Monday. Lavitt's Quay is reduced to a single lane westbound between St Patrick's Bridge and Christy Ring Bridge.

Limerick:

Roadworks continuing on the N24 near Beary's Cross and Grange Cross, and on the N21 Tralee to Limerick Road at Newcastle West.

Galway:

Minor roadworks on side roads on the N6 between Ballinasloe and Loughrea at Aughrim. Two lanes will remain open at all times, so delays should be minimal. Roadworks are also in place on the N18 main Galway-Limerick road, north and south of Clarinbridge - with two sets of temporary lights between Oran more roundabout and Clarin bridge.

Sligo:

Roadworks on the N17 south of Collooney. Restrictions are in place with a 20 mph speed limit. Traffic has been reduced to one lane.

Kilkenny:

Roadworks continuing on the Limerick/Waterford Road (N24) at Greenside, Carrick-on-Suir.

Kildare:

A temporary diversion is in place on the Athy road in conjunction with the N9 Moone bypass. Traffic should divert off the Athy road near the Moone Gates.

Laois:

Roadworks are under way on a section of the N7 in Portlaoise town. The road between the Killeshin Hotel and the General Hospital is down to a single lane.

Longford:

Roadworks in Granard town on the N55: expect long delays.

Irish Ferries:

Services to France may be delayed due to refuelling problems. Passengers are advised to contact Irish Ferries before travelling at 01-6610715.

Bus Eireann:

In the event of traffic delays today, Bus Eireann says, it cannot guarantee that its services will run on time.

Air travel:

Aer Rianta expects more than 187,000 passengers to pass through Dublin Airport this weekend. Information about parking and getting to the airport is available by freephone: 1800204010.

Rail travel:

Iarnrod Eireann is bringing a new train timetable into operation on Sunday, with extra trains running to deal with the reopening of colleges around the State.
