Traffic into and around the city is facing major restrictions today because of President Clinton's visit.
The Northern Cross motorway and the M50 between Navan Road and the M1 interchange will be closed to traffic or severely restricted between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.
On-street parking is prohibited until 4 p.m. in the following areas: main Phoenix Park road; Conyngham Road; Grand Canal/South Circular Road from Islandbridge to Haddington Road; Mount Street Lower; parts of Merrion Square; St Stephen's Green area; Earlsfort Terrace; Adelaide Road and Charlemont Street.
Cork
Roadworks on Model Farm Road near Dennehy's Cross will continue for the next two weeks and on Watercourse Road near Maddens Buildings for the next three weeks.
Limerick
With President Clinton due to make a keynote speech in the city tomorrow morning severe traffic restrictions will be in operation. The city centre bounded by Henry Street, Sarsfield Street, William Street, Catherine Street and Mallow Street will be closed to vehicular traffic until after 1 p.m. Access to the route being followed by the presidential cavalcade from Adare Manor to the city centre and back to Adare and on to Ballybunion will be totally prohibited from 9.30 a.m. tomorrow until early afternoon. i at Raheen Church and Punch's Cross.
Ballybunion
Due to President Clinton's visit, traffic will not be allowed into the town centre from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. tomorrow. The road between Abbeyfeale and Ballybunion will be closed between 12.30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Meath
There are roadworks in Clonee village for the next three weeks with temporary traffic lights in operation.
Westmeath
There will be resurfacing on the N4 at Rathowen east and west of the village, with temporary traffic lights, for the next few weeks.
Roscommon
Traffic on the N4 Dublin-Sligo road is diverted on to the new road over the Curlew Mountains. Traffic is diverted north of Boyle town and rejoins the existing N4 just south of Ballinafad.
Donegal
Temporary traffic lights are in place on the N15 just north of Donegal town. Roadworks are continuing on the Ballybofey Road out of Donegal town.
Rail Information
Engineering works this weekend will affect some rail services. The 6.25 p.m. service from Rosslare to Connolly Station will depart at 6.55 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday. Passengers using the 8.35 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. services from Connolly Station to Sligo and the 8.40 a.m. from Sligo to Connolly will be transferred by bus between Connolly and Maynooth.
