Dublin

There are roadworks in Queen St, on Drumcondra Road, Glasnevin Hill, James Larkin Road at the Mount Prospect Avenue junction, Clonskeagh Road and Anglesea Road in Ballsbridge. Stocking Lane in Rathfarnham is closed at the proposed interface with the Southern Cross motorway.

Pipe laying will be carried out for another month on Pembroke Road, Raglan Road, Elgin Road and Clyde Road.

Work on the new pedestrian bridge at Ormond Quay may cause delays after 7 p.m.

Kildare

There are major roadworks on the N 9 south of Kilcullen and on the Liffey bridge in Celbridge.

Cavan

There are roadworks on the Cavan to Ballinagh road.

kilkenny

Roadworks are in place on the N 8 at Johnstown until the end of March next year, and there is reconstruction work in Gowran village for the next three weeks. There may be diversions.

Sligo

Work is in progress on the N 4 at Castlebaldwin until the end of September.

Cork

Pope's Road and the junction of Academy St and Patrick St are closed.

Limerick

There are closures on the quays and local diversions, and a new one-way traffic system will operate on George's Quay for one year. Alternative routes are advised.

Louth

Work is in progress on the N 2 north of Ardee.

Iarnrod Eireann

Iarnrod Eireann's new timetable will come into operation on Sunday and will operate until May 27th, 2000.

It will include time improvements on some routes, including Dublin-Belfast, which will now take under two hours and where the trains will again arrive at Belfast Central, and Dublin-Galway, where there will be a time saving of 12 minutes.

Recent track improvements will also result in time savings of 10 minutes on the Dublin-Waterford and Dublin-Sligo lines.

There are additional trains on Sundays in the new timetable, which is available at all stations.

Aer Rianta

Over 173,000 passengers are expected to pass through Dublin airport this weekend on 1,360 flights.

Road Deaths

There were six road deaths in the last week, bringing to 293 the number killed on the roads so far this year.
