The National Safety Council's "Fly the Flag" campaign is urging motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to demonstrate their concern at road deaths and injuries this bank holiday weekend by wearing a white flag on cars or clothing.
Dublin
Traffic will be disrupted today for an 11.30 a.m service at Mount Argus Church for Mr Jack Lynch. The funeral cortege will leave for Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, at 1 p.m. Traffic diversions will be in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area. (See page 6 for details.)
The Dublin City Marathon will take place on Monday. O'Connell Street will be closed from 5.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m. Traffic will be disrupted on major routes throughout the city at various times to facilitate the marathon. Monday closures of Meath Street (7 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Francis Street (2 p.m. to 8 p.m.) for film production.
Cork
Today: Mr Jack Lynch's funeral cortege will travel from Cork Airport (6 p.m.) to North Cathedral at 7 p.m. The public are asked to park their cars in the city centre and the high-rise car parks at Paul Street and North Main Street.
Tomorrow: The funeral will take place from North Cathedral to St Finbarr's Cemetery, Glasheen Road, after funeral Mass at noon. Parking will be reserved in the area of the cathedral, and there will be no parking along the funeral route. Traffic restrictions in the city between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (See page 6 for details.)
The jazz festival runs until Sunday night. Tomorrow night open-air concert at Grand Parade (7 p.m. to 10 p.m.) Sunday open-air concert at Patrick's Street (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and Grand Parade (7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m).
Aer Rianta
Some 210,000 passengers are expected to pass through Dublin Airport this weekend. An additional 45 flights have been added to cater for French rugby fans travelling to Ireland. Shannon Airport will handle more than 23,000 passengers, a 15 per cent increase over last year's figure. Cork Airport predicts 16,500 passengers will pass through, an 11 per cent increase over 1998.
Iarnrod Eireann
Potential disruption of rail service today except for Belfast line, DART and the Kildare Arrow services. Extra trains tomorrow on Cork route and on Monday on all routes.
Bus Eireann
More than 100,000 passengers are expected on Expressway and provincial services during the weekend. Today and tomorrow services will operate to normal weekday timetables, with additional buses as required on all major routes. On Monday services will operate as on Sundays with a number of alterations and extra services for people returning to the main centres on Monday evening.

Road Deaths
There were five road deaths in the past week, bringing to 342 the number of people killed on Irish roads so far this year.
