Dublin

Dublin

North King Street will be closed until January 25th between its junctions with Queen Street and Church Street to facilitate manhole construction work. Westbound traffic will be diverted via Church Street, Brunswick Street North and Stoneybatter. Eastbound traffic will be diverted via Brunswick Street North or Blackhall Place, Benburb Street, Queen Street, Arran Quay and Church Street.

Roadworks will be carried out at Marlborough Street until January 30th. Road reinstatement works will be carried out until January 27th at the following locations: Custom House Quay, East Wall Road, Amiens Street, Seville Place, North Strand Road and Aungier Street.

On the southside, disruption due to QBC and cycle track work continues until January 30th.

Cork

There is no access to Kennedy Quay from Albert Quay. There is no access to Park Avenue from Blackrock Road. Bowling Green Street is closed until the end of the month. Monahan's Road is closed between Victoria Road and Kennedy Park. Anderson's Street is closed until June. Grattan Hill is closed until the end of this month. Elsewhere, roadworks are in place on the N73 at Glenavuddig Bridge, east of Kildorrery.

Waterford

Roadworks continue on the Ballytruckle Road. O'Connell Street is closed from the junction of Penrose Lane to Bridge Street. The N25 realignment project is in operation from Garramillan to Newtown for an 8.5 km stretch, with occasional temporary lights in operation.

Galway

Minor work is in operation on the N18, between the Quality Hotel, Oranmore and Clare galway. Roadworks and temporary lights are in operation on the Galway-Tuam road (N17)

Tipperary

Temporary traffic lights are in place until this evening on the N24 at Limerick junction.

Westmeath

Roadworks continue at the Longford end of the Mullingar bypass. Line marking is being carried out on the N4 west of Mullingar.

Kilkenny

Resurfacing has recommenced on the N8 through Johnstown. Temporary lights will be in place for the next six weeks.

Carlow

Roadworks and temporary lights are in place on the N9, four miles south of Carlow at Loughlinbridge, between Orchard and Milford Cross. Southbound traffic for Kilkenny should divert via Athy and Castlecomer.

Louth

Final work is being carried out on the Castlebellingham bypass on the N1, which will join up with the Dunleer bypass at the end of this month.

Seven people were killed in road accidents in the Republic over the past week, according to the Garda Traffic Bureau. The total for the month to date is 16 - the same figure as this time last year.

More than 140,500 passengers are expected to pass through Dublin Airport this weekend. Over 85 charter flights have been added to the normal schedule.
