A total of 141 checkpoints are in operation at Border crossings with Northern Ireland, all on a 24-hour basis. Motorists approaching crossings should be aware of the presence of the checkpoints and reduce speed. Motorists should expected to be stopped more than once if travelling into the special protection zone in Co Louth.

Dublin

Due to recent weather conditions, Firhouse Road will remain closed completely to through traffic until at least April 2nd. Motorists should avoid the road completely as there is local access only. Coultry Road, (just off Santry Avenue) is closed between Coultry Drive and Coultry Avenue from 8 a.m to 7 p.m until Tuesday April 3rd, in order to facilitate filming work. Local vehicle access will be maintained when filming is not being carried on.

Wicklow

Major roadworks south of Blessington on the N81, where a roundabout is under construction.

Cork

On Lower Glanmire Road, outbound traffic is reduced to a single lane while city-bound traffic will be diverted via the ramps at the Silversprings overpass. The junction priority at the top of the overpass will be temporarily changed in favour of city-bound traffic approaching from Lower Glanmire Road. Roadworks are due to commence shortly on Fermoy Bridge on the N8.

Limerick

Road resurfacing in operation on Corbally Road from Monday to Wednesday next week.

Galway

Major traffic disruption on the Upper Salthill Road as part of the Knocknacarragh Main drainage works. A second operation is now in place on Seapoint Promenade, adjacent to the Atlantiquarium. Both sets of works will cause major delays and this work will continue May 31st.

Aer Lingus flight cancellations due to industrial action. Please check www.aerlingus.com for flights affected. Some 140,000 passengers are expected through Dublin Airport this weekend.
