Australia crushed the West Indies by 134 runs in the first match of the Tri-Series final series at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The home country hit 253 for nine in their 50 overs before undoing the Windies for 119 in their 38th over.
It was Australia's 14th successive win of a summer in which they have not been beaten once. They have won nine one-day internationals in a row after achieving a 5-0 whitewash over the West Indies in a Test series.
Ian Harvey was the star for Australia, scoring 47 off 33 balls and then taking two for five off six overs.
The only bright moment in the West Indies batting display came after a verbal bust-up between Brian Lara and Glenn McGrath and Michael Bevan.
Lara decided to exact some revenge with his bat. Four of his first five scoring strokes went to the boundary and he hit seven fours in total in a brief stay of 35 runs which ended when he edged Damien Fleming to Adam Gilchrist.
The second match of the best-of-three series will be in Melbourne on Friday. If required, a third match will also be played in Melbourne on Sunday. PA
